London Climate Action Week

London Climate Action Week (LCAW) mobilises London’s unparalleled ecosystem of climate and non-climate organisations to accelerate global climate action and supports action in London to ensure it acts as a global climate leader.

This year, IDH will be co-hosting and participating in several events during LCAW.

Where are we?

Monday 23 June: Solutions for a climate stressed agriculture

The Embassy of the Netherlands in the UK and IDH host a dinner at the embassy to discuss how we can unlock scalable, collaborative solutions for agricultural decarbonisation and resilience.

Agriculture sits at the nexus of some of today’s most pressing climate challenges. As the sector experiences growing climate stress, with profound implications for productivity and profitability across global value chains, securing supply and Scope 3 emissions reductions have become urgent priorities.

Over recent months, IDH has been speaking with companies across sectors such as coffee, cocoa and cotton, to better understand their perspectives on building low-carbon, resilient supply chains. What’s clear is a strong appetite for collaboration, from boardrooms to on-the-ground teams.

This dinner, hosted by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and IDH, offers a valuable opportunity to bring together senior leaders and practitioners to explore shared solutions for decarbonisation and resilience in agricultural supply chains. Expect a solutions-focused discussion that will encourage an open and candid exchange, that bridges strategy and implementation and helps turn intent into impact.

Tuesday 24 June, Magazine London

Regenerative Production Landscape Collaborative, which IDH implements in Brazil and India, will participate at the Future Fabrics Expo - the premier event for sourcing sustainable materials.

RPLC will be part of a dedicated showcase on regenerative approaches for natural fibres. The collaborative, which is currently operational in Brazil, India, Pakistan and Tanzania, is focused on scaling sustainable, resilient agricultural models, with a particular focus on cotton. Speakers from RPLC will also participate on the main stage in a panel discussion.

If you are attending the expo, do come and say hello to us at the RPLC showcase at the Space 2 solutions area

Tuesday 24 June, 10:30 – 11:00: Reset Connect: Fireside chat on climate-resilient food systems

Orchestrating climate-resilient food systems: From fragmented action to systemic change

How can we transition to climate-resilient food systems and ensure that transformation is durable, inclusive, and self-sustaining? This fireside session by IDH at Reset Connect in the Food Systems Hub explores how to shift from siloed interventions to a harmonised, systems-level approach that aligns investment, data, business models, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. Drawing from real-world experiences, we will unpack what it takes to scale sustainable agriculture and build resilient value chains, especially in staple crops while balancing food security, farmer livelihoods, and climate goals.

We’ll look at:

  • What business models actually work for smallholder farmers, agri-SMEs, and value chain actors, and how data-driven insights, inclusive approaches, and gender-transformative design can help make these models viable scalable, and equitable.
  • How to unlock investment in climate-resilient agriculture, including the role of investment readiness, pipeline development, and reduced financial risk through enhanced on-farm resilience and healthy ecosystems within production landscapes.
  • Why collaboration is essential, and how partnerships are the key towards achieving impact, aligning sourcing companies, investors, and governments, to support regional production and policy coherence, and amplify impact across entire landscapes.

Ultimately, this session asks: How do we orchestrate the symphony of actors and actions needed to achieve systemic, climate-smart transformation, where the whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts?

We’ll explore how viable, inclusive business models, collective action across sectors, and catalytic investments that unlock finance and reduce risk can help turn promising innovations into system-wide transformation.

Wednesday 25 June, 08:30 - 11:30: 'How Capital Enhances Resilience'

Investing in resilience isn’t just about mitigating risks—it’s about building stronger, more inclusive agricultural markets that can thrive in the face of climate shocks and economic challenges. But to do this effectively, we need to measure what works.

Together with Acumen, IDH will explore how capital across the investment spectrum can enhance resilience, why impact measurement is critical, and how data-driven decision-making helps design scalable, smallholder-centered solutions.

Don’t miss this conversation on the future of resilient food systems.

Speakers

  • Lars van Doremalen, Impact Director, Better Cotton Initiative
  • Barbara Visser, COO, IDH Investment Management
  • Luan Mans, Associate Director, Acumen
  • Albert Boogaard, Head of Smallholder Solutions, Rabobank
  • Clara Colina, Associate Director at ISF Advisors will moderate the panel

Wednesday 25 June: Dinner Dialogue for a more sustainable and resilient beef sector in Brazil

Since 2015, IDH has been working with a range of partners to enhance a more inclusive, transparent, and sustainable beef sector in Brazil. We will be hosting a dinner for leading stakeholders from Brazil’s beef value chain as well as prominent European investors - exploring opportunities to support a more sustainable and resilient beef sector in Brazil.

The dinner will also include a keynote address from Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture, who will share insights into the government’s plan for converting degraded land - an essential strategy for sustainable production and the climate goals.

Thursday 26 June, 2-4pm: Transition finance for resilient agricultural systems

Open dialogue around key lessons learned, and the benefits and challenges for producers and investors focused on sustainable and resilient agricultural systems. It will feature examples of different initiatives that are working together for the same goal of resilient, sustainable and productive landscapes in the Brazilian Cerrado and in bringing more security and interest to financing this work.

Hosted by: IDH, Olab, Proforest, SIM/Responsible Commodities Facility, Consumer Goods Forum, WBCSD, Tropical Forest Alliance, WWF. Attendance by invite only.
