As Brazil prepares to host COP30 in Belém, IDH, The Nature Conservancy, and the First Movers Coalition for Food will host the “Davos to Belém: Shaping Brazil's path to a sustainable, low-carbon cattle industry” session during the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos.

With the world’s eyes on Brazil’s role in global climate action, we will focus on how the country’s cattle industry can lead the way in decarbonisation, exploring actionable strategies to reduce emissions in the cattle sector. Experts and stakeholders will discuss how policy frameworks and supplier buy-in are generating live opportunities for the full value chain to engage and accelerate Brazil’s transition to a low-carbon future.

During this invite-only session, we will examine how the industry can balance environmental responsibility with economic growth, ensuring Brazil's leadership in sustainable livestock production as we approach COP30. Keynote speakers will share how corporate ambition now can both fortify the supply of verifiable low-emissions cattle and offer a win on the COP 30 stage for suppliers, downstream companies, and the planet.

Hosts IDH, The Nature Conservancy and the First Movers Coalition for Food, together with value chain leaders will explore ways forward that can catalyse existing initiatives to deliver a greener, more resilient cattle sector in Brazil. Speakers include Mr. Helder Barbalho, Governor of Pará, Brazil and president of the Amazon Governors Coalition; Mr. Gilberto Tomazoni, JBS CEO; Roberto Waack, Board Member Marfrig; Jennifer Morris, TNC CEO; Daan Wensing, IDH CEO. Following the keynote speakers, we'll host a firestarter conversation with participants.
