Terms of Reference: Copywriter for NISCOPS Landscapes on SourceUp

We are looking for an organised, self-motivated, team player person who has experience working with people from different nationalities and cultural backgrounds and has an interest in sustainability work itself. You are excellent at translating complex technical reports and wider input into easily understandable high-quality reporting on the Source Up Platform. Experience of content management on various CMS systems, would be an advantage, in order to improve the existing profiles of Palm Oil Landscapes on SourceUp and input the new NISCOPS landscapes’ profiles.

Background

The National Initiatives for Sustainable and Climate Smart Oil Palm Smallholders (NISCOPS) is a programme that operates in landscapes in Indonesia, Malaysia, Colombia, Nigeria and Ghana, with a focus on Asian (including India) and European markets, aiming to create partnerships to make palm oil production sustainable and beneficial to all. This means supporting smallholder farmers in living in balance with nature.  

The programme is a joint partnership between the Dutch and UK governments, representing a ten-year commitment by the Dutch government (2019 to end 2028), as part of its Amsterdam Declaration Partnership (ADP) and Team Europe commitments, and a five-year commitment by the UK (2024-2028) as part of their Investments in Forests and Sustainable Land Use (IFSLU) flagship programme under the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office's (FCDO) International Climate Finance (ICF).  

NISCOPS brings together a variety of supply chain stakeholders to foster the uptake of sustainable palm oil in producing and consuming countries. 

Your Role

We are looking for an organised, self-motivated, team player person who has experience working with people from different nationalities and cultural backgrounds and has an interest in sustainability work itself. You are excellent at translating complex technical reports and wider input into easily understandable high-quality reporting on the SourceUp (an online platform that connects buyers and other stakeholders in agri-commodity supply chains with landscape and jurisdictional initiatives in production regions).

Experience of content management  on various CMS systems, would be an advantage, in order to improve the existing profiles of Palm Oil Landscapes on SourceUp and input the new NISCOPS landscapes’ profiles.  

In this role you can contribute to positive global sustainability change. The position is for 16 hours a week (equivalent of 2 days/week), for a period of 6 months, ideally starting in April. You will report to the SourceUp and Markets leads.

Scope of Work

The overall number of NISCOPS Landscapes that will be covered in this contract is 16 landscapes divided into the following: 

  • Indonesia: 7
  • Malaysia: 5
  • Nigeria: 2
  • Colombia: 2
