Facilitating economic growth that benefits workers and farmers
Ethiopia is the second most populous nation in Africa, and one of the fastest-growing economies in the region. As fast growth comes with challenges, our IDH office is committed to facilitating a private sector economy that benefits workers and farmers without harming the environment.
Our Ethiopia team aims to redefine 'business as usual'. We are dedicated to pioneering innovative business models, nurturing powerful coalitions, creating added value in the value chain and driving transformative solutions that address the shortcomings of the current market.
Through our Sustainable Textile and Apparel Parks (INSTEP) Program, we step up the sustainable production of textiles and apparel via Industrial Parks, reaching multiple factories and shared facilities, with assessments and interventions to reduce environmental impact and improve working conditions. Our Value Chain Transformation work supports the transformation of African food value chains into economically viable, inclusive, and resilient value chains.
We ensure seamless alignment with relevant national and regional strategy – adjusting to the market trends, industry dynamics and local socio-economic context.
